For 24 hours after your cosmetic injectable treatment, avoid wearing makeup or using moisturizers with active ingredients to prevent infection. Refrain from applying significant pressure to the treated area for two weeks and minimize strenuous activities that increase blood flow to the face during the first 24 to 48 hours, as this can help reduce swelling and bruising. Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours, and steer clear of excessive heat, such as saunas or steam rooms, for at least 48 hours post-procedure. It is also important to avoid touching the treated area for six hours to prevent disturbing the dermal filler or introducing bacteria. Applying cold compresses can alleviate swelling, bruising, and discomfort, but be sure not to apply ice directly to the skin. To further reduce swelling and bruising, consider using pharmacist-recommended creams like Arnica or Hirudoid. Staying hydrated, keeping your head elevated while sleeping, and taking Panadol for tenderness are also recommended. However, avoid taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Nurofen, or other anti-inflammatories. Finally, abstain from facials, facial waxing, peels, or laser treatments for 14 days following your procedure.

While bruising is a potential side effect, it is not guaranteed. Individual responses vary, and some patients may experience minor bruising or swelling.
