Our PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Skin Support treatment is a personalised procedures that uses a concentrated component of your own blood to support overall skin vitality and appearance. By drawing and processing your blood, we isolate the platelet-rich plasma, which is then applied or administered by medical professionals as part of your treatment plan.
This minimally invasive procedure is suitable for those seeking a more natural approach to skin care, using your body’s own biological materials. Many clients choose PRP to support their skin's condition, tone, and texture, especially in areas experiencing early signs of skin changes.
What Is PRP Skin Support?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Skin Support is a cosmetic nurse-led treatment that utilises a concentrated component of your own blood to support overall skin quality and appearance. A small blood sample is collected and placed in a centrifuge, which separates and concentrates the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) portion.
Platelets contain naturally occurring growth factors and bioactive proteins that play a role in the body’s normal tissue signalling and repair processes. When carefully applied or administered to targeted areas of the skin, PRP is used to support skin vitality, texture refinement, and overall appearance.
Because PRP is derived from your own blood, it is considered an autologous treatment — meaning it uses your body’s own biological material.
The Science Behind PRP
Platelets are small cellular fragments found in blood that are primarily involved in clotting and wound response. Within platelets are growth factors such as:
-
Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)
-
Transforming Growth Factor (TGF)
-
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)
-
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)
These signalling molecules are involved in cellular communication, tissue regeneration pathways, and collagen-support processes. When concentrated and introduced into the skin under controlled clinical conditions, PRP is used to support the skin’s natural renewal mechanisms.
It is important to understand that individual platelet concentration can influence results. Because PRP relies on your own blood components:
-
Clients with naturally higher platelet counts may produce a higher concentration of growth factors.
-
Clients with lower platelet counts may have a more modest biological response.
-
Overall health, hydration, age, and lifestyle factors (such as smoking, stress, or certain medications) may also influence outcomes.
For this reason, PRP is highly individualised. Results vary from person to person, as each client’s biological profile is unique.
How It Works in Clinic
Our Cosmetic Registered Nurses prepare PRP using a specialised centrifugation technique designed to isolate and concentrate platelets while removing red blood cells.
The PRP is then carefully applied or administered into targeted areas discussed during your consultation. It may be used as:
-
A standalone skin support treatment
-
In combination with microneedling
-
Alongside other skin-focused therapies
Common treatment areas include:
-
Face
-
Under-eyes
-
Neck
-
Décolletage
